Cheeky Checkout Page Split Test Adds An Extra $4,380,000

If you missed the news yesterday…We launched a major new component to FreeAdCopy.com that’s titled “Learning”…

And while that’s kind of a generic name…The trainings inside are anything but boring. For example, this morning I was watching one of the trainings called “9 Cheeky Split Test Winners”…

And literally from the very first split-test that’s covered in the first 5 minutes of that video…

My head started racing with split-test ideas I need to test for the peptide company that I’m serving as fractional CMO of.You see, in this split-test…

Which I did with Cody Bramlett back when I was partnered with him and we grew his company from $4MM a year to ~$18MM a year in 12 months…

We decided to test the button copy on the checkout page of one of our funnels…

And we tested four different call to actions:

1. “Submit” (Control)

2. “Check Out”

3. “Pay Now”

4. “Complete Purchase”

We ran this split-test over 685 Conversions…

And the results were shocking: 

“Check Out” increased checkout page conversions by 30%…

“Pay Now” increased checkout page conversions by 25%

While “Complete Purchase” increased checkout page conversions by 10%. 

So “Check Out” was the winner, and I explain why I think it won in the video (which you can watch for free on FreeAdCopy.com)…

But it’s equally interesting that all three options increased conversions…

And this wasn’t just some small vanity metric either…

The Checkout CTA impacted our average revenue per visitor

Look at how changing the CTA in the checkout button impacted our average revenue per visitor to the checkout page: 

1. “Submit” (Control) –  $34.97 Avg Revenue Per Visitor 

2. “Check Out” – $46.52 Avg Revenue Per Visitor

3. “Pay Now” – $43.50 Avg Revenue Per Visitor

4. “Complete Purchase” $41.46 Avg Revenue Per Visitor

Do you realize how nuts that is? This means that for EVERY SINGLE PERSON who hit our checkout page, we were making an extra $12.

So say you have 1,000 people reach your checkout page per day…

That’s an extra $12,000 in revenue per day or $4,380,000 per year!!

All because we changed the words on a damn checkout button. Pretty wild, right? 

Don’t let anyone tell you that making small little tweaks in your funnel can’t make a HUGE difference…

Because I’ve got the data to prove they’re wrong.
